1. Elizabeth Hanks who married Thomas Sparrow was the daughter of Joseph Hanks and Ann (Nancy) Lee. She never had any children.

Joseph Hanks and his wife had 4 daughters, Lucey, Elizabeth, Mary Polly, and Nancy. According to Verduin (and to Dennis F Hanks), Lucey was the mother of Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Mary Polly married Jesse Friend and had several children. Nancy, d of Joseph, had Dennis F. Hanks out of wedlock, then married Levi Hall and had a number of children with him. Lucey later married Henry Sparrow brother of Thomas Sparrow. Many claim Lucey is not the daughter of Joseph Hanks BUT Dennis said she was and he was a contemporary person who would know.

Nancy and Dennis both lived with Thomas and Elizabeth Sparrow at different times. The Sparrows died just weeks before Nancy Hanks Lincoln. Dennis then moved in with Thomas Lincoln. After Thomas remarried Sarah Bush Johnston, Dennis married her daughter Sarah Elizabeth Johnston.

Dennis And Betsy were moving to IL and so Thomas, Sarah, Abe and the rest followed in order to keep the families close.

Verduin shows some possible half-siblings of Nancy on the pages I referenced.
