Do you know if they were married in a church or where? It might help to look for the witnesses to their union or the pastor... wonder if he was of a particular faith. Was he a portrait photographer or other? Where was your mother born - what hospital? Maybe there is a clue there. If he was 27 in 1950, perhaps he went to Korea afterward. Have you searched for the divorce decree?
