I think my g-g-grandmother was sister to your Rubye Hamilton, but still haven't made a definite connection.
Alma Hamilton was born Oct. 30, 1874 in Mobile, Ala. according to her death certificate. Census records from various years show father is from Maryland and mother is from Virginia.
No one in the family knows much about her or her family.
Do you have any information that Rubye and Alma were sisters?

James Parrot Hamilton is the son of William Jameson Hamilton and Elizabeth Hull.
JPH married Zeland Zeno Anderson.
They are parents of several children, including Rubye Peterson Hamilton.
Rubye PH married Robert Henderson Simons.
They had several children, one of whom is my mother.
After Zeland died JPH re-married and he and his new wife had several children.
