On my gg grandmother's (Lucy L. Gaines Moreland) obit,it was stated that she was a cousin to Alexander Hamilton. She was born abt: 1829 in Kentucky and died Sept. 1, 1912 in Franfort, Kentucky. She married William M. Moreland in Anderson County Ky, in 1851. It was noted noted that she "was a descendant of the Hamiltons of Virginia, and being a cousin of Alexander Hamilton". Lucy's father was William Gaines and her mother, Juliet Hamilton. Since I have the obit from the scrapbooks of the Wiley sisters, can this be confirmed thru a researcher?
