My current brick wall is a James Hamilton b. abt 1770 who lived in Bushmill house just outside of Stranocum, Antrim.

While doing a google search I came across a small sample of a book as follows:

Caldwell Workbook
Compiled by Marie
Loraine Epps Anderson Published 1966
518 pages Original from the University of Wisconsin - Madison Digitized Jul 3, 2007

Page 29

"...she married in Ireland, John Parks, a nephew of the Hamiltons of Bushbank, Co. Antrim. Same sources as above.
Flora Caldwell, dau. of John Caldwell and Elizabeth Calderwood, married John Parks, a nephew of James Hamilton of Bushbank, Co. antrim. Letter from Edward T. Langford to James B. Hamilton, Esq. 1934"

Unfortunatly that is all of the book that is shown.

I came also came across another reference to the home at www.ballymoney.gov.uk site some time ago. It indicated that two brother's named John & James Parks lived there at some time and both were attorneys and two of the earliest members of the Society of United Irishman in Ballymoney. They married Flora and Catherine Caldwell of Harmony Hill, Antrim the sisters of Richard and John.

If anyone has any ideas as to the linage of this James Hamilton I would love to hear from you.

As a side note his daughter is buried in Skerries - so I suspect there may be a connection to the Hans Hamilton line of the family.

Carol
