I would assume you have a death certicate naming Hamilton as his Father; Mother unknown. If you could find a living male Hamilton descendant; you could get a dna sample. This sample would tell you if he matches other Hamiltons or is an unknown match. You can visit www.hamiltongensociety.org click on dna project for more information.
