After reviewing what you have written, it doesn't seem Benjamin Hamilton married to Moonglow Hurst was the Benjamin who married Mary Rankin.

In 2001, Albert Hamilton sent to me a history of the Hamilton family beginning with Benjamin. The family tree was taken from the Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site: User Home Page Genealogy Report: Descendants of Benjamin S. Hamilton. If you can access that site, perhaps you can read the tree.

I have tried to contact both Albert and another person whose name appears on the family history and unfortunately, the e-mail addresses are no longer effective.

Separately, I will send you a news article about Benjamin Hamilton which does not mention that he was married to Mary Rankin.

I am related to the Hamiltons through Benjamin's daughter Sarah married to Edward Hill.
