Hello!

The Bias Hamilton in the 1880 Marion Co. SC census is Tobias Hamilton. His
daughter was Rachel and Rachel's daughter was Daisy. Daisy is Helen Daisy
Brigman. see site below for more info on her. (note: the family for Ruby is
below...all names and dates are accurate)

I can't explain why Daisy appears in the 1880 Marion Co SC census as a
Hamilton. Possibilities are Rachel had Daisy out of wed-lock, he (Daisy's
Dad) ran off, was killed or was just not in at the census guy came round. I
have a copy of a written letter from Helen Daisy's daughter, Irene Todd
Buffkin, stating "her Mother was Helen Daisy Brigman. Helen Daisy's Mother
was Rachel Hamilton and Rachel's father was Tobias Hamilton."
I'm very interested in this Hamilton family and am willing to persue any
avenue that may lead to the discovery of who this Brigman guy is or how the
Brigman name came to be.
This also raises the question.....Also listed in the 1880 Marion Co Manning
Twp. census under Bias (Tobias) is a child, Katy aged 3. Is she also the
daughter of Rachel? Or is she the daughter of Helen who married Volentine
Rowell. I've found no record of Katy residing with Helen and Vol. I'm going
out on a limb and guessing that Katy is also the daughter of Rachel and may
very well be a Brigman....
