I am looking for HAMILTONS who went from NJ to PA to Tomkins and Tioga
Counties NY.

The ancestor I can trace back to is Jonathan HAMILTON 1783-1843 (who had
a sons Simeon b 1815, Ira b 1825 and Andrew b 1829) According to the NY
census Jonathan's wife Ellen was born in NJ.

There is a good possibility that his parents were Thomas HAMILTON who
married Sarah Westfall; they lived in Hardwick Twp, Sussex Co, now
Warren County, then in Muncie Creek, Northumberland/Lycoming County,
PA. They had a son Jonathan born about 1783, but there is no record of a
marriage for him.

Thomas HAMILTON (who married Sarah Westfall) was the son of James
HAMILTON and Susan NEWMAN who had two sons: Thomas born 18 Jan 1751/52
and Jonathan born 30 May 1761 Sunbury, Northumberland, PA.

There is a John HAMILTON who arrived at Penn's Neck, NJ in 1729, father
of Mary, Alexander and James, and possibly father of Thomas and Robert
who came to the NJ/PA Philadelphia area earlier.

If you have any information about any of these Hamilton families I would
like to discuss possibilities.
