Becoming the sixteenth state in 1796, Tennessee was home to over one million
residents before the American Civil War. This database is a collection of
marriage records from the state between 1851 and 1900. Researchers will find
the names of both bride and groom along with the marriage date. The county
where the ceremony was performed is also provided. Containing about 58,000
records and the names of nearly 120,000 men and women, this collection can
be a tremendous aid to those seeking ancestors from the area.
