Hi List Members,

I have been a member of this list for several weeks and have seen only
Hamiltons in the USA.

Are there any members on this list who have Hamilton ancestors in Australia?

My earliest Hamilton ancestors, John Hamilton and wife Eliza had several
children in the New England district of New South Wales, Australia in the
mid 1800s. John and Eliza Hamilton may have married before arrival in
Australia. However, none of the records show their place of origin. Even one
of their sons, Patrick Joseph, was supposedly born in Australia (according
to his daughter's birth certificate). However, I have found no record of
birth of this Patrick Joseph Hamilton in the place or State shown on this
certificate.

The origins of this family are a mystery.

Is there anyone out there researching the Hamilton family in this area of
NSW, Australia, in this time frame??
