Hi, fellow Hamilton searchers. While running a search the other day on =
ROWAN, I ran across the following tidbit and thought I would pass it on.
Eloge - Sir William Rowan Hamilton
Born August 1805 at home, Dominick-street, Dublin Ireland.
Father Mr. Archibald Hamilton
Went to live with his uncle - Rev. James Hamilton, of Trim at the age =
of three.
Was a member and president of the Royal Irish Academy.
Wrote numerous papers on Astromony.
This file is seven pages long. Filled mostly with his accomplishments, =
very little of genealogical value, I believe I gleaned the most =
important data from this file. I did not see a reference to a wife or =
children. This may not mean that there were none as women and children =
were often considered property at that time, or at least not considered =
importent. The eloge was give by a fellow scholar and so the papers =
written and discoveries made were of more importance to him. I made a =
hard copy of this, and thought I had saved the address, but I now find =
that I forgot to. If anyone is interested in this, I used Hotbot as the =
search engine to find it, or can make copies for the cost of copies and =
postage. I figure about a dollar. My email is
Don't know if anyone can use this or not, but thought I'd let everyone =
know it was out there.
