Hi,
I don't have information on your Patrick and Mary (Stanton) Hackett of Co.
Leitrim but I am interested in all Hacketts from Co. Leitrim. The Hackett
name was anglicized to Guckian for many Hackett in Co. Leitrim. They usually
changed their name back to Hackett when they arrived in the U. S.
My ancestor was James Henry (Guckian) Hackett. He married Catherine Hanley.
They had two children who were baptized at Carrick-on-Shannon before they
left for the U. S. sometime in 1849. They were on the 1850 census in
Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. Their son James was born in Rochester in May
1850.

I am researching Patrick 1799 -1861 and Mary Stanton 1802-1892 Hackett of
County Leitrim, Ireland. They emigrated in 1838 directly to Orange
Township,
Ionia County, Michigan to join brother Peter Hackett 1810-1890.
