One more thing! There is a 15th century castle in Ireland built by SIR WILLIAM HACKETT, a descendant of the Anglo-Norman settlers of Kildare and Kilkenny. It's castle Ballytarsna in Cashel, County Tipperary.
Here's the site: http://www.tipp.ie/ballytarsna.htm
Last I heard, it was still being restored. I emailed the couple restoring this castle maybe 1-2 years ago, and they were still on the project then. However, on the site, there are no updates since 2000. I think that perhaps I'll drop them another line and see why there are no recent updates. Perhaps they stopped and/or sold the place? Not sure. I'll post an update if I hear anything.
It's not a true Hackett castle, but since it's built by one, I find it interesting.
Regards, Sandy Smith
