Kathy, I am searching for a Richard (Dickie) Hackett myself. However, your Richard Hackett is a little younger than mine. I am wondering if he's the son or grandchild of another Richard Hackett. My Richard Hackett. Long shot, but worth asking about.

My Great Grandfather was Harry Leonard Hackett, born in Leicester, England in 1880. He had a younger brother named Richard (Dickie). When my G-Grandfather was approximately 12 (yes, 12), he ran away from a very abusive home setting, taking Dickie with him. My G-Grandfather later joined both the Royal Army & later, the Royal Navy, lying about his age to get in. Eventually, he made his way to the US and settled in New York. Meanwhile, Dickie was never heard from again. He was last known to be in England.

I am wondering who your Richard Hackett's father and grandfather are, or where he was from. Possibly we have a link here? Again, it's a long shot, but I know how males in the family are often named after their fathers and grandfathers.
