Subject: Josiah Hackett's ancestry

Has anyone found any information for a certainty about who Josiah
Hackett's parents were? This is the Josiah (b. 15 Jun 1758 in Lyme, CT>
d. 4 Jul 1845 in Oxford, NY) who married Mary Booth. They had children
(that I know of): Charles, David, Josiah (m. Eunice Haskins), Sally (m.
James Haskins), Daniel (m. Abigail Dewey), Polly (m. John Gordon),
Eleanor (m. Job Ingraham), Lucretia (m. Isaac Ingraham). It was
speculated at one time that Josiah's parents were Joseph Hackett and Ruth
Evans, but there was no real evidence to support that theory. This was
supported by Howard Johnston who was editor the "Hackett Monitor"
newsletter and who has quite a bit of information on many Hackett lines.
