I had heard that Valentine Sr. whom Valentine ( Jack) went to visit in New Jersey fell off a roof or something and had his sides all bruised up but didn't think it was anything. My father, Richard W. was in the service overseas and was called home to care for his mother and siblings because Valentine Sr. had died of internal injuries. Apparently the fall and bruising continued to bleed. My father then raised his 9 other siblings. A son died around the age of 2 years. I have to ask my father again who that was. I was told that they were not well cared for as young children. My grandmother and grandfather liked thier freedom so to speak.
