I have so far only found them in the US Census through 1900. I have spent a
lot of time tracking false leads because of a second John Hackett in Orange
County, NY, who inconsiderately named his children with the same names as MY
John Hackett. To make matters even worse, the second John lived in Warwick,
NY, where my grandfather, yet another John, was born. John # 2 also had a
son named John, who was born in the same year as my grandfather. I suspect
that these four Johns were somehow related, but I have yet to find the
connection.
