Hello very distant cousin. I have the extensive copy of the Pocahontas Descendents
5 Apr 1614 in Jamestown, Pocahontas married John Rolfe, who may or may not have been the John Rolfe who was the son of John and Dorothea Mason Rolfe of Heacham, who was christened 6 May 1585. In due time John Rolfe and Pocahontas had a son, Thomas, birth date unk. Well known that upon his mother's death and burial at Gravesend, England, Thomas, her son was probably left in the care of his uncle Henry Rolfe.
About 1635 Thomas Rolfe returned to Virginia. Recorded that Thomas Rolfe given a headright. His father John remarried a Joanne or Jane Pierce, also spelled Pyers, Peirce, Perse, Pearsey.
Thomas Rolfe's wife has not been definietly identified - one source shows her as Jane Poyers (Poythress, not Poyers) and they had a daughter Jane (this part in the Bolling Memoirs)(also a further comment that Poyers is another spelling of Pierce).
Jane Rolfe, dau of Thomas and Jane Poyers(Poythress) married Col. Robert Bolling of "Kippax".
Their son John Bolling born 27 Jan 1676. Upon the death of his mother, his father remarried Anne Stith (1681)
Maj. John Bolling married Mary Kennon Bolling (my first connection) (thru the Kennons of Conjurer's Neck) There is a second connections to the same family in a later generation
their children in birth order were
Col. John Bolling
Jane Bolling m. Col Richard Randolph (my 2nd connection)
Mary Bolling m. Col. John Fleming
Elizabeth Bolling m. Dr. William Gay
Martha Bolling m. Thomas Eldridge
Anne Bolling m. James Murray (abt 1742) - It is thru this line that I am registered. Their 5th child was Mary Murray (1754-1823) married 2nd Col. William Davies son of Rev. Samuel Davies. Their daughter Mary Anne Davies married Fortescue Whittle (1804) Their son William Conway Whittle m Elizabeth Beverley Sinclair (1833) Their son Conway McNeece Whittle (1851-1888)is my grandfather.
There are so many American historical names connected to Pocahontas.
