What I have about my Hacketts is very little.George Henry Hackett was suppoesedly born in Saco Maine. I have not found his birth record and Saco has no record. At the Bowdoinham Town office I found his death record. That is where it said his mother was Julia Hackett. Julia was born in Patten Maine. George was born December 3,1853. He married Harriett Campbell in 1873. I have not found any adoption recrd for him. I was told he was raised by Hiram L.Hackett. They moved to Bowdoinham when he was young.
I found a death record for Hiram L. Hackett. He died Oct.18,1923 at the age of 86 years 4months and 18 days. He was born in Stantsted Lower Canada. He was a carpenter. His Father was Hiram M. Hackett and his mother unknown. Hiram M. place of birth was Vermont. His mother was from Scottland. Hiram M was a farmer. I think Hiram L. is buried in Patten. However the Town of Bowdionham says there is a flag in memory of Hiram in a Bowdoinham cemetery.
I would love to have you email me directly if this sounds like your hacketts. I have a relative who I am working on this with also. I hope we have the same Hacketts.
