Erin,
Thanks for the reply. I've seen information on Peter Hackett almost
everywhere I've looked, but haven't found a connection. Here is list of the
sources I've searched, mostly complete.
Federal Census, Kentucky:
Madison County- 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840 (all for Jacob & other Hacketts),
1860 (Granville & family), 1870 (Owen & Baswell)
Estill County- 1850 (Granville & family)
Woodford County- 1880 (Granville & family, 1900 (Benjamin)
Probate records from Madison Co., 1848-1851 (microfilm)
Genforum
Madison County Marriage Records
1792 Madison Co. Tax List
Madison County, Kentucky, Court Order Book A, 1787-1791
ditto, Book B, 1791-1801
Madison County Kentucky Marriages, 1786-1844
Madison County. 200 Years in Retrospect
Glipses of Historic Madison County Kentucky
Madison County Births, Vols. 1&2
Cemetery Records of Madison County
Inventory of Burials
Kentucky Obituaries
Jessamine Journal Obituary Index (online)
Ancestry.com
I also have more current censuses tracking them and their children, but
our main concern is discovering Granville's father. The 1880, 1900 & 1910
all say his father was born in KY.
Howard Hackett, my friend, has written the Madison County Historical
Society, the Woodford County Historical Society, Platte County, MO,
Historical Society and a couple of distant relatives, including an elderly
man named Granville; all to no avail. Howard also has an obituary for Sarah
(Rollins) Hackett and a death notice for Granville (b. 1818). There is no
ancestral information in them.
I've been all over the internet and to the public library in
Independence, MO. I also am a Family History Center Consultant, so I've
been through every possible resource I can think of, short of every film
that can be rented!
We are both completely open to suggestion and are willing to try
anything! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I look forward
to hearing ANYTHING!
Joleen Aitchison
