In the "History of Canterbury, NH" there is a Hackett family genealogy that
goes from William Hackett to Ebenezer to Ephraim to Jeremiah to Allen who
married Mary (Polly) Young. They had a son named Hiram. In this genealogy
it says he was Hiram Steven.

In the Hackett records in Concord at the genealogy room of the Vital
Records office it has a Hiram Hackett b. Feb 26, 1806, male, father's name:
Allen Hackett, Mother's maiden name: Polly Young, and at the bottom it says:
"The State Of New Hampshire"
and below that it says:
I hereby certify that the above birth record is a correct transcript as
required by Chap. 21, Session Laws, 1905.
It is signed by: H.E. Adams
Clerk of: Belmont
Date: Sept 7 1905

I would like to say that I know that sometimes middle names are tricky...my
mother's name is really Mary Leonora...but she has gone by Lenore since
1917 and all of the people who knew what it really was are dead...except
me, and only because I love to listen to family stories and would instigate
conversations when she and her brother were together. My brother didn't
even know it.

Therefore I would like someone in this group to remind me why we are so
sure "our" Hiram has a middle name of Marshal??? And how we can be 100% be
was born in Barnston, Que?????? We know we cannot take the census
information as gospel, so where did we get the information. I am sorry if
someone feels slighted because they have already told me...but if they did,
forgive me...it's a Senior Moment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Kendra
