Wow! Thanks, Ellen, that certainly was helpful! You've made my day! My mother's father was a Hackett and from the Isle of Wight, and his parents were from Leicester. My great grandfather was in both the Royal Navy and Royal Army and I'm not sure which he was in at the time of my grandfather's birth on the Isle of Wight. My grandfather moved to New York when he was age 2, and that's where I'm originally from. I'm currently in Florida.

Since I last posted, I have seen a picture of the Hackett Coat of Arms, but never knew any information on it, so I thank you! I have also heard of Hackett Castle in Ireland, but cannot find any information on it. Do you know of any websites related to it? I appreciate dearly any other information you may have. Thanks so much!
