There is no way to be polite about the idiocy (well intended) involved in spreading
hoax virus messages like the one I just received. In this case if you follow the
instructions, you will delete a Microsoft utility file! No virus is involved but
you will do the damage yourself if you follow the instructions. I repeat - DO NOT
FOLLOW THE POSTED VIRUS ALERT INSTRUCTIONS!!!. TO IDENTIFY ANY STAMPEDING TYPE
VIRUS ALERT MESSAGES AS A HOAX (BEFORE YOU FORWARD THE ALERT), GO TO
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html. This site identifies most of the known
circulated hoaxes. I would suggest that any of you who have circulated the "Virus
Alert" message., immediately notify those you sent it to that in trying to help
them you may have damaged them unintentionally
