I do not have Rachel Emma in any database but still have some
suggestions for you. I cannot tell from your post what primary resources
you
have consulted. However, I would certainly collect each census record that
REHA was on from 1920 back.
Since 1920 back to 1880 give parents' birth state, it would be
interesting to see what most say. All the way back to 1850, the census
gives
the birth state or country of each person.
Does that marriage record not list parents or at least witnesses?
Generally a bride marries in her own town with father or brothers in
attendance.
If most censuses say she was born in PA, check all Hacketts in PA,
beginning near Pittsburgh and moving east, on the 1860 census. Also on
the 1850 as REHA was born after June. Fortunately Hackett is a rare name,
unlike Adams, so this should be easy to do.
That is great that you have eliminated the Tioga Co, NY, Rachel
as yours.

>I have only one known Hackett ancestor -- Rachel Emma Hackett, a one-woman

brick wall. I'd like to find her parents, grandparents, etc. If your data
base includes male Hacketts who were living in New York, Pennsylvania, or
Ohio in the 1800-1870 period, please take a look for a daughter, cousin,
aunt, or niece who could have been my Rachel Emma.
Here's what I know: Rachel Emma Hackett was born 19 July 1850, probably in
(or near) Pittsburgh, PA. She married John Quincy Adams in Pittsburgh 8 May

1867; the wedding was performed by Rev. W. S. Grey. She and her husband
left
Pennsylvania between 1868 (when a child was born in Pittsburgh) and 1870
(when a child was born in Columbus, OH). By 1872, they were living in her
husband's home town (Lincoln, ME). She died there in 1928.
Rachel Emma was NOT the daughter of Elmer Hackett of Tioga County, PA --
that
Rachel Hackett married someone else and died in Tioga County.
Rachel Emma's parents were probably born in New York, but Ohio and
Pennsylvania are possibilities. They may have lived in Ohio before or after

Rachel Emma's birth. Her mother's maiden name may have been Stutz. Those
are
the only clues I have on that generation. If you have a NY/PA/OH Hackett
with
a daughter Rachel or Emma (or a cousin Rachel Adams) in some obscure corner

of your data base, I'd like to hear from you.
