I am new to this list, and greatly appreciated the information about where
to obtain census records. I would also add to that Universities which
often are government repositories and thus have all of the census records
for the State.
My greatgrandfather Moses F. Hackett was born in Strong Maine in the 1830's
(variety of dates - census, tombstone, Military records [Civil War]). I
think he may have been the son of Moses Hackett, Jr. but have no direct
evidence of that. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who may
information about the Maine Hacketts. I think he was Irish because my
mother used to talk about an Aunt Julia Delaney who was Irish???
Hope you all have a great day and happy hunting :>)
