My name is Duncan McIntosh and my Hacket line starts from from my maternal grandmother. My direct line hail from Templecarn, Pettico,Fermanagh, Ireland and therefafter Glasgow, Scotland. Insofar as I am aware they are all Roman Catholic. I am told that one branch from Glasgow stemming from a Grand Uncle John Hackett had children who went to the USA in the 1950's or '60's. All my own direct line are in the UK.
Briefly my line reads as follows:
1. Martin Hackett (est b1760)= Margaret Flannigin (described as farmer in Fermanagh on sons death cert)
2. Martin Hackett (abt 1783 Pettico-1869 Glasgow )= Catherine Reilly
issue= Francis Moira abt 1823 Born at sea,-1896 Margaret b1830, Catherine b 1833, Samuel b 1838-1913, Ellinor b 1840 (all Fermanagh. The family moved to Glasgow in 1846)
3. Francis Moira Hackett (1823-1896 = Susan Kean Possibly Glasgow abt 1850
issue = Sophie b 1851, Martin b1852, Rosanne b1856-1881, Patrick b1859-1859 all Bridgeton,Glasgow
4. Martin Hackett 1852-1915 = Elizabeth McTear (Glasgow 1877)
issue Francis b1878, James b 1880, Susan 1896-1952, John b1887, Isabell b1888, Sarah b1890
5. Susan Hackett (1896-1952) = John Boyle
issue = James 1911-1984, Elizabeth -1913-1986, Alice-1922- still alive, Martin 1927-unknown all Glasgow
6. Elizabeth Boyle = Duncan McIntosh married 1940 Glasgow
issue Duncan 1944 (me) John 1949.
Martin Hackett (1783- 1869) served with the 69th Ft in India for 15 years and I have details of his musters. He was a Chelsea Pensioner.
