I have a brick wall that I hope someone can help with. The facts that I have
are a little confusing and hard to follow because of “name changes”. Here
goes……

1st Document - Marriage license,
Where:Palestine, Anderson County, Texas,
Date:February 26, 1896
Groom:Charley Allen
Bride:Miss Priscilla Rea

2nd Document - 1900 Census
Where:Precint 2, Anderson County, Texas

3rd Document - Marriage license

On 1920 Census this family was back in Anderson County, Texas and Robert J.
Allen was no longer in the household.

5th Document - Marriage license
Where:Crockett, Houston County, Texas
Date:September 15, 1917
Groom:Mr. R. J. Hackett (This person, my grandfather, was born Robert J.
Allen)
Bride:Miss Rosa Wier

I don’t know why Robert J. Allen was married under the name of Robert J.
Hackett. He had a great uncle by the name of Roe Mant Hackett but I have no
documentation of family connection. Family oral history says that Charlie
Allen went to prison, but no one still living knows the true story.
Interesting huh?

Robert Jackson Hackett and Rosa Mae Wier Hackett raised 11 children in
Elkhart, Anderson County, Texas.

If anyone has any information regarding anyone in this line I would sure
like to hear from you.

Thank you for you consideration.

Dorothy Burchfield
