Subject: [HACKETT-L] Bennetts also tied in with a Hackett via a marriage

THANFUL SPROAT, dau. of Lt. EBENEZER SPROAT...she was called THANFUL
BENNET in her father's will of 8 Sep 1726 (Middleboro Deaths 25:126-28).

LT. JOSEPH BENNET, late of Middleboro, MA, yeoman, letters of
administration were issued to THANFUL BENNET, widow, at Plymouth, MA 3
Jan 1741. There was a large inventory taken by JOHN BENNET, Samuel Wood
and Jacob Thompson. It was attested to by THANFUL BENNET, 20 May 1742
(Plymouth Co. probate file 1827; 8: 442, 501, 502).

THANKFUL (SPROAT) BENNET, m.2nd, SETH SAMPSON who died and left a will
naming her and his children by his first wife dated 30 Jan 1770, probated
17 May 1770. (Ply. Co. 20:372). Seth's children by his first wife (not
mentioned here) were: Jemima Jackson; Keziah Wood; and BETTY wife of
GIDEON HACKETT as well as sons Abner and Seth, and grandson ISSACHAR
SAMPSON, "son of my son ISSACHAR". SETH SAMPSON'S son-in-law, GIDEON(5)
HACKETT (Lydia(4) Thomas, Lydia(3) Howland, John2-1 Howland) was a
descendant of "MAYFLOWER" passenger JOHN HOWLAND.

THANKFUL (SPROAT) (BENNET)(SAMPSON) HASKELL m.3rd JOSEPH HASKELL, but no
will has been found.

THANKFUL'S children were all by her 1st husband Lt. JOSEPH BENNET:

Lucia/Lucy BENNET, b. 1725
William BENNET, b. & d. same year 1727
Priscillia BENNET, b. 19 May 1729; d. 16 May 1745 aged 15 yrs.
Elizabeth BENNET, b. 2July 1731
John BENNET, b. 7 Feb. 1733/4
Samuel BENNET, b. 26 March 1736
Joseph BENNET, b. 20 Sep 1737; d. 19 Nov 1737, aged 1 mo. 29 days.

THANKFUL died at age 83 years reprted as being 19 Feb 1788.
