I am new to this list. Would like to try to find the ancestry and birthplace
in NH of ALLEN HACKETT b. ca 1795 in New Hampshire, d. aft. 1870, m. Ruth
J.(LNU) (need her surname) b. ca 1783 MA, d. 22 Jan 1851 Richmond Twp.,
Macombe Co., MI. Only known child so far is ELEANOR JANE HACKETT b. 5 May
1818 NY, d. 4 Apr 1887 Danville, Harper Co., KS, m. ca 1844 to WILLIAM COLE of
NY.
This family is enum. in the
1850 Census for Lenox Twp., Macomb Co., MI, p.85 R.,
1181/1192: Allen Hackett 55, male, farmer, $400 b.NH;
Ruth J., 67, b. MA;
Ellenor (sic), 32, b. NY;
Allen, 5, b. MI.

1860 Census Lenox Twp., Macomb Co., MI p.541
737/739 Allen Hacket (sic) 64, male, farmer, $2000, 344, b. NH
Eloner (sic) Cole 42, b. NY
Allen 14, male, b. MI
** DANIEL 9, male, b. MI
Ruth 5, female b. MI
Abigail H. Danon 55, female, servant, b. MA
John Cassidy 47, farmer, 2500--500, b. Ireland
Mary (wife) 42, b. Scotland
Jane 12 b. MI
Ann 8 b. MI
Elizabeth 6 b. MI
Agnes 3 b. MI
Andrew Preston 16, male, farm laborer, b. NY
(Apparently all these people were living on this farm and working for Allen
Hackett.
This line continues down thru DANIEL PHILIP COLE b. 23 Apr 1853 Romeo, Macomb
Co., MI, d. 6 Dec 1911 Medford, Grant Co., OK, m. 29 Jun 1882 in Danville,
Harper Co., KS to JULIA AUGUSTA HAMMOND. (Note: The town of Danville was
named for this Daniel Philip Cole. I can relate this story at another time or
to anyone who is interested).
