Subject: [HACKETT-L] WHICH LINE IS THIS?

Gary & the original poster of this data:
I am unable to tie the descendants of Howard Sayer Hackett to the Jacob
Hackett family of Hackettsville, NJ.
This doesn't necessarily mean it isn't so, but I can find no proof of
any connection.

----Well if your line hooks up with that Samuel Hackett who came from
Ireland
in the 1700's and he did fight in the Rev. War, and it is he who the
town
of Hackettstown, NJ is so named after, we have some information on this
family. However, I think we have more on his son Jacob who went to
Canada
with another brother and they were married and one son had a huge
family,
then they came back to WI and settled on large tracts of land. What I'll
do is send this on to Howard Johnston a Hackett descendant of another
line, same as mine, and see what he may have for you. He is the Hackett
Monitor Editor and is also our Data Base Chairman. He may like to see
what you have here also. Please keep me in touch and if I should come in
contact with the son (I assume) who went south enstead of
Canada...north,
I will share it with you. I'll send it to some others who may have some
notes that would be of interest also. My best,
