The mention of Crawford Co, IL makes me think there may be a connection
between the Hacketts we are researching.

Daniel H. Hackett was born in KY on May 5, 1794. I believe he was the son
of Nelson and (Elizabeth Harrah?) Hackett who were early settlers of what
eventually became Bath Co. The area was at various times in Fayette, Clark,
Bourbon, and Montgomery Counties as the boundaries changed. They lived on
Hingston Creek.

Daniel was in the War of 1812 from Bath Co., KY and then married Mary Madlin
Hicks in Bath Co. in 1817. His occupation was tanner. They went to Crawford
Co., IL about 1828 and Daniel died shortly thereafter on Sept., 18, 1828.

His widow Mary moved onto Watson, Atchison Co., MO by 1865.
In her pension claim for his War of 1812 service, a witness was Franklin
Robb of Crawford Co., IL who had been enlisted with Daniel back in bath Co.,
KY.

There may have been some relationship between your John N. and my Daniel H.
Hackett. Maybe Daniel was an uncle - it is possible he was the father
although you would expect a Daniel or a Nelson in the children's names.
