This is not the first time I have seen the name Redmond Hackett in
Virginia and the Carolinas. The other place I have seen that name is in
the Irish Co. Tipperary Hackett pedigree [noble family descended from
Norman warlords]. You can't do much with most of the first names, but
Redmond and Valentine are rare enough that it is worth pursuing an Irish
heritage if you descend from these 18th century Hacketts in Virginia and
the Carolinas. By this time they had converted to Protestantism.
