My HACKETT line includes :
1. Martin Hackett born about 1760 in Virginia, married Francis Garrett.
2. Robert Hackett died about 1832 in Anderson, SC. One of four brothers who
moved from VA to Greenwood Co., SC by 1820. Robert later moved to Anderson
Co., SC.
3. Albert Hackett, born in SC, married Catherine Smith. Eight children.
4. Whitaker Thomas Hackett, born 1834 in SC, died February 2, 1920, Newton
County, GA, married Eliza Ann Crenshaw. Whitaker served in company D of the
Hampton, SC Legion in Confederate Army in 1863. Lived in Franklin Co., GA,
then Newton Co., GA.
Whitaker Hackett and Eliza Ann Crenshaw had six children:
5a. William Thomas Hackett, born 1860. "Uncle Tom" married Mary Crenshaw.
They raised 6 children. Tom died of typhoid fever in 1900.
5b. John Freeman Hackett, born 1862. Uncle John married Parylee Switzer and
they had 3 daughters.
5c. Nancy Catherine Hackett, born 1864. Married Bradford Bohannon. They had 4
children.
5d. Margaret Jane Hackett, born 1867. Aunt Jane married Lucius Williams, and
they had two children.
5e. Mary Emmer Hackett, born 1869 and died June 24, 1940 in Newton County, GA.
Mary married Joseph Ashbury Cook. Raised 9 children, including my
grandmother,Annie Cook Kitchens.
5f. Columbus Henry Hackett, born 1874. "Uncle Tumps" married Sara Callahan.
Raised 4 children.
