In response to this June post:
> Hi,
I'm looking for any information on Bridgett or Dehlia Hackett. She was
born around January 27, l880, in Wexford, Ireland.
Bridgett immigrated to Philadelphia, Pa.
Her husband's name was Charles Noonan.
Bridgett's parents names were Thomas Hackett, and Mary Ryan. Bridgett
Hackett, and her husband had at least three children,
Charles James Noonan,
James John Noonan,
Elizabeth Noonan.
The above information is word of mouth.
James John Noonan was my father, and Bridgett Hackett was my
grandmother.
Ed and Dag Smith<
If the above is just word of mouth, I suggest beginning standard US
research with the 1920 census since US records are plentiful, and Irish
records are rare. When you have collected all US records available, then
John Grenham's book on Irish research is valuable; but his first advice is
to collect what you can in the country to which your ancestor migrated.
