RE: Copy of: Sir William de Haket, ca. 1200
Sir William de Haket is "the first named in the pedigree in the Ulster
Office [Dublin, Eire]. William accompanied King John [of England] to
Ireland and, in doing so, acquired a large property holding in County
Tipperary. He is probably the son of Pagamus de Haket." I will not give
the line here as it is about 25 generations. Information can be gathered
from printed sources in various Irish peerage books. The trick is proving
that you are connected to the family in the 19th century. :>} One branch
migrated up into Co. Offaly ca 1700. Many descendants immigrated to
Australia, Canada, South Africa, etc.
Many thanks to Mary M.
