Hi Folks

The oldest Hackett in my line is Tobias Hackett who emigrated from
Killenaule, Tipperary Co. to Newfoundland. He was born about 1823 and died
November 21, 1890 in Brigus, NF.

Another descendant says his father's name was Patrick Hackett and his
mother's Ellen Blake, but I have no source info for that.

Tobias had three children, that I know of - Thomas, my great grandfather;
Margaret, who married Patrick Nowlan and died in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1894;
Michael P. who was lost at sea on November 15, 1885.

Like many people I know a fair amount about the family after emigration but
would be really interested if anyone knows anything about Killenaule and
Tipperary in the 1820s.
