The other day when I submitted a data summary on the New England
Williams', especially in Bristol County, Massachusetts and all those
that went to Maine, I forgot to include the Hackett connection which also
goes back to the "Mayflower". Here is the line:
This Mayflower line stems from Jabez(1) Hackett first of Lynn, MA in
1644 then of Taunton, MA in 1654, re, George(3) Hackett (John(2),
Jabez(1). George(3) Hackett m. Lyndia Thomas, dau. of Jeremiah Thomas
who m. Mary dau. of #14 on the Mayflower Passenger List, John Howland.
Phebe(3) Williams, (Joseph(2), Richard(1), b. 25 Sep 1687 at Taunton, MA
d. before 1750; m. Christopher Richmond, b. 1688. (He m.2nd 15 Nov , the
widow Susanna Barden of Middleboro, MA). Children born in Middleboro, MA
to Phebe and Christopher:
i. Judith Richmond, b. 29 May 1717; m. Wm.
Claggett of Newport, RI.
ii. Eliz. Richmond, b. 1 Oct 1719
iii. Mary Richmond b. 18 Oct 1721; m.

SARAH HACKETT, dau. of GEORGE AND LYDIA
(THOMAS) HACKETT OF MIDDLEBORO, MA.
Lydia Thomas was b. 19 May 1725.
v. Phebe Richmond, b. 2 Jan 1727/8; m. Gershom
Richmond.
vi. Joseph Richmond, b. 4 Feb 1730/1; dy
Richard(1) Williams (William 7a, John 6a, Richard 5a, John 4a, Thomas 3a,
Morgan 2a, Howell 1a). Richard (1) was bap. 28 Jan 1606 in
Wooten-Under-Edge, near Gloucester City, England; he d. 1692/3 at
Taunton, MA; m. 11 Feb 1632 Frances Deighton (Changed to Dighton, which
became the name of the town in MA, named after her), m. at Gloucester
City, Eng. Frances was dau. of Dr. John and Jane (nee Bassett) Deighton;
bap. 1 March 1611; d. at Taunton, MA, will written 1703, probated 1705/6.
They had eight children. (I have all of them recorded... GIH).
