Elizabeth,
I really like this idea, I also like our Hackett list owner's idea about the
forename. Why not use both. I'll start with
Forname John State Kentucky
John Hackett born bef. 1850, Owen Co. KY ? mar. ? Sayler
Brother to Ollie Andrea Hackett and Sallie Buck Hackett also KY.
Son of Howard Sayer Hackett and Mary Brian from NJ via IL and MO to KY
Children John Hackett abt 1892 KY mar. Mae Steel
George Hackett 1894 mar. Annie Beverly
In a message dated 98-02-10 22:49:20 EST, you write:
<< Rather than asking for submissions by forename, how about by
locality? Like a certain county in a certain state? Or even just that
state? Or a part of England or Ireland? To me that would bring together
related people a lot quicker than the name John would. I am sure I could
find a John in the Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland book where there is a
line of Hacketts, but what would that add--to type stuff out of a book that
anyone can get access to?
I would be excited to find other Hacketts from near Balydaly, Co.
Offaly, Eire.
