Hi. I am new to the list, and would like to post my info. My great
grandfather is Thomas Hackett, b 1871, in Ohio, possibly Warren, died
1941 in Lorain. His parents were Thomas Hackett and, I believe, Mary
Whelan. I have Thomas, sr, as being born in 1834, in Ireland, Mary in
1840 in Ireland. Their three other sons were all born in Ireland,
James, Patrick, and David 1865, 1867, 1864 respectively.

I found this family in the 1880- Warren Oh census. I am trying to
trace them further back in Ireland. I believe that they migrated in
1867. I found a ship record with Mary and the kids, and a Margaret
Hackett, but no Thomas. I also found a David, born 1864 to Thomas
Hackett and Mary Whelan in Waterford, Ireland. I am trying to find
out also if this couple is also the parents of my Thomas.

Does this info sound familiar to anyone. They were Roman Catholic.
Thomas Jr, married Catherine Walsh or Welch, and were in Lorain Oh by
1910. Their daughter, Frances, is my granny.
