Hi Liam,
You'll have some difficulty in determining with certainty when Mary and John came over. I'm pasting below the marriage info from the other post. Since Mary was married in 1891 in Medford, MA, we know that she immigrated before July 30, 1891. Immigration documents in that time and prior, typically list name and age, but no specific information that helps confirm an identity. When family groups travel together, it helps, but when individuals travel alone, all one can do is speculate.
It might be either of the last 2 Mary Sexton's that Carol found, but is likely not the first since her name was Mary Callinan (or such) by 1894. And if one can believe the information on her marriage record, her year of birth is abt 1864.
"From the Cambridge Register, July 29, 1891, in Medford, MA, Thomas Callinan residing in Cambridge, age 30, laborer, born in Ireland, parents John and Bridget (Mack) - m - Mary Sexton, residing in Medford, age 27, Domestic, born in Ireland, parents Jeremiah and Mary (Buckley). Married by P J Higgins, Clergyman, Medford.
The Medford record for the marriage indicates that Mary is from County Cork, and that Thomas is from County Clare.
"
Hope this all make sense.
John
