Hello list,
I'm trying to trace my gggrand father CHARLES GIBSON born 1840 Todmorden,Lancashire,England who on the 1870 U.S. census was living in Lawrence, Essex county, MA with his wife SUSANNAH GIBSON and 2 sons.
While living there they had 2 more sons before Susannah and the 4 boys returned to England sometime after April 1874 and before April 1881 as she appears with the 4 boys on the 1881 census living in Wardlesworth,Lancashire,England with her 4 sons.
Susannah Gibson is listed as married but is head of household no record of Charles Gibson, I cannot find him on any following cesus records in England or on the 1880 U.S. census, I haven't seen any death notice for him in MA, my question is can anyone shed any light on my mystery?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
