Hello,

This week I received an e-mail from someone asking if I knew about the
meeting on Thursday (last night) to discuss the potential sale of the LOCKE
Farm on Ridge St. in Winchester ! The current owners want to sell the
farm to -- developers ! But, this farm is on the National Historic
Register !

I just went to the on-line, weekly newspaper for Winchester, and found an
article about the farm in last week's paper:

The newspaper did not have time to provide an update in yesterday's paper,
so there will probably be one in next Thursday's paper !

I drove by that LOCKE Farm twice during the summer (on my way to the
Wildwood Cemetery), and was reminded what a large farmhouse it is - and how
much land makes up the farm. (I believe there is another old house on the
property.)

The person who wrote to me thought I was associated with that Farm, but it
was the 2 HUTCHINSON Farms which bordered on the LOCKE Farm that I was
attached to ! (I grew up on one of the farms - lived there from Age 2
to Age 9. And, my grandmother, great-grandmother, and
great-great-grandmother were born there !)

I haven't read this article, yet, so I'll go do that now !
