Subject: Siblings in Chicopee: JARRY, FONTAINE, MOISE
Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 06:30:01 -0400

Hello,

I would very much like to get in touch with descendants of my grandfather's
3rd wife. She was Mrs. Yvonne (LAMOTHE) (JARRY) LEWIS and she died in
1983. I believe she lived on Summit Avenue in Chicopee Falls
(Aldenville) for many years.

My grandfather, "Cy" LEWIS, died in 1961, and my mother doesn't remember
having very much contact with Yvonne after the funeral. And, I don't
know that any of my grandfather's belongings (personal papers and family
photos) ever went to my father. And, my father would have been the only
child to have gotten them. (His brother "disappeared" and his older
sister didn't keep in touch with him.)

I obtained Yvonne's obituary last week, and it lists her 3 adult-children as
Mr. Armand JARRY of Texas, and Mrs. Jeannette FONTAINE and Mrs. Claire MOISE
of Chicopee.

I reread it last night and remembered that they would probably be in their
80's. So, I checked the SSDI listings and found that Armand had died in
Louisiana in 1994. But, neither Jeannette nor Claire was listed, so they
might still be alive.

The small obit only says that Yvonne had 5 grandchildren and 6
great-grandchildren. We met 3 of them, and they were siblings of 2
daughters our age (one named Yvette), and their younger brother. So,
they would be in their 50's and 60's now.

..... I have re-connected with the grandchildren of my grandfather's second
wife -- through queries to the Boards and Lists. She was Mrs. Hazel
(SHAW) (BEDELL) LEWIS from MA. I don't remember ever meeting them as a
very young child; Hazel died when I was 5. It is strange with this
family, as the son, Albert BEDELL, remained in close contact with his
stepfather (my grandfather) up until his death in 1961. But, one of the
3 daughters did not know that my grandfather had remarried in 1952 (for 3rd
time).*

I was wondering if anyone who lives in the Springfield area knows of this
extended family.

Thank you for your time.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

*My grandfather's first wife was Clarissa (KIDDER) (LEWIS) FRANCIS, and they
were divorced somewhere around 1930-1932.

P.S. Because my grandfather's obituary was probably written by his widow,
there is both slightly incorrect information, and missing information.
Plus, he seems to have been an important "engineer" in the area, and that
was not mentioned in obit. One piece of missing information is that my
grandfather was one of the youngest of ..13.. children growing up in
Stoneham, and only one brother was mentioned. And, the fact that my
grandfather had 6 grandchildren at the time was not mentioned. (And,
.none... of the step-children were mentioned.)

I found out that he was buried in the Forestdale Cemetery, and last night
the subject came up as to whether he was buried with his second wife,
azel, - or whether he went into a gravesite and his 3rd wife, Yvonne, was
buried with him.
:o)
But, my newly found "step-cousin" lives in the area, has visited his grave
before, and will go check for me.

FYI: Still looking for descendants of all my grandfather's siblings
!!!
Don't even know the names of all his nephews and nieces !!!
