Subject: [GM-L] New .. WWII National Memorial in D.C. (search)

Hello,
Last week I found out that there is a new web site for information on the
National Memorial being built/established in Washington, D.C., for ...
veterans of World War II:
http://www.wwiimemorial.com/default.asp?page=home.asp
You can do two things here. You can search for your relative's or
friend's name, or you can add your relative's or friend's name to their data
base.
One of my sisters found out about this data base and she and her husband
went through the process of getting a page posted about our father.
Just this second ... I now wonder whether there is an on-line data base for
veterans of World War I .... Or, any war!
And, please remember the ..soldiers.. fighting in a War as we speak.
"There .. but for the Grace of God ... go I .. !"
(I'm sorry ..I can't offer the source.)
And, does anyone know if there is still a way to send "We Care .. Packages"
or "we care letters" to soldiers .... even if we don't know them?
("Dear Abby" or "Ann Landers" used to offer a program.)
"Let Brotherly love Continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers;
for thereby some have entertained angels .. unawares."
"Hebrews, New Testament"
May I offer one of my favorite song/hymns:
"Let there be PEACE on EARTH
and Let It Begin with ... ME!"
Privately? May each of you live in a PEACEFUL home,
and may each person in your home,
offer the hope of a PEACEFUL life
to someone you know who might not currently have one.
Betty (near Lowell, MA)
"There are two lasting bequests we can give our children;
one is roots, the other is wings."
Hodding Carter, Jr.
"What does Jesus want in his "stocking" on Christmas morning?
Loving kindness, a warm heart, and the stretched out hand of tolerance!"
The Bishop's Wife (1947)
