Hi Pam...

Could not locate anything for Leffler and Huit. However, a possibility for
John Frederick Sivert is Johann Siefert, a drummer from Carlshagen, Germany.
He was born in 1763, and served in the regiment of General Riedesel, in the
Company of von Speth. He was 5' 4" tall, of the Reformed faith, and was a
part of the Convention Army, which was what remained of General Burgoyne's
army after his "surrender" at Saratoga in October of 1777. Soldier Siefert
evidently didn't relish being a prisoner-of-war, as he was kept at the
barracks in Cambridge, Mass.(Winter Hill), and then deserted during the
march to Virginia on December 5, 1778. On that date, the marching army was
near Sussex, New Jersey, and he left somewhere in that area. He was only
one of approximately 700 men who deserted from the Convention Army, so it
really wasn't that uncommon. Hope that helps.
