Hi Tom,

I thought I had better add a bit to your statement > Instant
Genealogy via the internet or LDS can lead to errors.<. Just to
clarify it a little.

Nothing on the Internet that has been posted should ever be taken
as fact, not even on the Gustin web site, without it being
documented. The LDS files you need to be careful of an only use
as a guide, and definitely not fact, are the IGI and the ANCESTRY
FILE. Especially the ANCESTRY FILE. These two files are full of
more holes than my knee. But they are a good guide and should
not be taken as fact.

The RECORDS the LDS have on microfilm and microfiche should not
be confused with these two files. Were it not for the RECORDS
from the LDS most of us would be back doing genealogy like our
ancestors did, by mail and without the records, dependent on
others for the "facts". Which would eventually give us something
like the ANCESTRY FILE and the IGI.
