JOHN GUSTINE
Born circa 1760, Lynn, Essex Co., Massachusetts. Married Mary Blair (b. c1760 d. 19 May 1849). Taxed In Lack Twp. Cumberland Co PA 1779 (50 acres one horse one cow; 1780 50 acres 2 horses; 1781 one horse 1782 2 horses. In 1785 he was living in Rye Twp., Cumberland Co. (now Franklin), PA at Shippensburg. Settled in Lost Creek Valley, Juniata Co., PA , Died at Richmond, Salem Twp., Jefferson County, Ohio 21 April 1858. [Both John & Mary are buried Richmond, Jefferson Co., OH] Children:

Amos Gustine married (2) 12 May 1836 at Mifflintown PA Francesca Blair Hamilton (b 16 May 1815), daughter of John Hamilton and Francesca Blair Edmonston of Juniata Co., PA.
Amos Gustine was a tall awkward man, hearty in manner and of great popularity. In his younger days, he was a school teacher at Mifflintown, PA (1811). He was a miller, farmer, and merchant. He was a member of the Board of Managers for the Mifflin Bridge Company (1828), and served as Juniata County Sherriff 1831 34. During that time he was let the contract to build the first court house at Mifflintown. He was elected Juniata County treasurer in 1837 and he sussequently served in the US Congress from 4 May 1841until 3 March 1844. He died at Jericho Mills (later McCulloch Mills), Juniata County PA 3 Mar 1844. Burial was at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Mifflintown, PA
Writing in 1930, Carrie Gustine Dove of Mineral Wells Texas stated that she had in her possession a letter written in 1842 by the Hon. Amos Gustine to her grandfather, John Gustine of Richmond, Ohio.

According to Natalie Gustine Beard, John Gustine died in DeWitt, Missouri. Ann Rodgers Gustine in 1872 at Winterset, Madison County, Iowa.

William B. Gustine died at Desota Clarke County, Mississippi in 1855 (Norman W. Gustine to Samuel Gustine., 7 April 1909). According to Dr Norman Gustine "William, Gustine's wife and children came to Texas soon after the Civil War and settled in Leon County." Julia Knight Gustine m2) William Waltman (30 Oct 1810 - 03 Apr 1881). Julia is buried at Bethel Cemetery, Leon Co. TX.

Born c1824. He attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and received the degree Doctor of Medicne in 1848. He married Elizabeth Craig and lived at Des Moines, IA and Carroll, Carroll Co., IA where they both died. Children:

Born Dec 1825, Richmond, Jefferson County, Ohio. Married 10 Apr 1847 Jefferson County, OH Sophia DuVall (b. May 1829, OH) of Steubenville , Jefferson Co., OH. The family set up housekeeping in Cross Creek Twp., Jefferson on Co., OH. They moved to Winterset, Madison Co., IA about the year 1852. In 1880 the family was living at Wrightville, Greene Co., IL. Eventually, the family settled in Clay Co., MO.
