Subject: A Franklin family/Thomas Canny

Hi Gustin cousins,

My Grandfather Thomas Canny...son of Thomas Canny Sr. and wife Mary Elizabeth
Gustin was born and lived in Jasper County Ill. until moving to California
later in his life.

Thomas's parents both died while Thomas Canny was a young boy. A 1880 census
shows that Collett Canny(his full name was Thomas Collett Canny) was listed in
the Christ Franklin family as an adopted son.
I now realize that my Grandfather had LOTS of Gustin family living around him
even his Grandparents Samuel Morris Gustin and Hannah Gustin lived in the area
and were still alive.

Does anyone know who the Christ Franklin family were? I've often wished I knew
who raised him after his parents death!
