Jim and Diane,
It is very easy to sympathize with the parents and grandparents in this situation. My wife was not able to have a child so we adopted my son John Minoru Reeb in Japan. After 17 years of marriage my wife was very unhappy in the U.S. and so she returned to Japan when my son was about 9 years of age. Naturally he and I bonded very closely and remain so. I am one proud grandfather of a 12 years old granddaughter and a 3 1/2 years old grandson. Both are very special to me. I am thankful that almos three years ago my son insisted that I leave my home in San Francisco and move into his home in Alameda on what is called Bay Farm Island but is not quite an island and simply surrounded by 3 1/2 sides with water in the bay.
I can only imagine the loss of a child at any time for both the parents and grand parents. God bless both of you and your family.

pregnancy was terminated by a miscarriage. She had an outpatient D&C
following the miscarriage. Diane and I went to Cinnaminson, NJ last Tuesday
to be with her and her husband to lend our support to that part of our
family. We returned to Bel Air, MD on Friday and were joined here on
Saturday by Tracy and Bob, and we were able to attend the wedding of a son
of close friends of our family. While she is still not feeling well
physically just yet, she is making progress and we think that the wedding
was a very good diversion for her (and for us as well). With God's help, the
healing, both physically and spiritually, will take place.
Words alone cannot convey our deep appreciation for the prayers that you
were kind enough to offer on our behalf. This expression of sympathy and
support is so very special to us; this is evidence of what our "extended
family" does for us. Again, thanks so much!
We look forward to the time in the future that we can announce the birth of
another healthy child to our daughter, Tracy. In the meantime we must wait
patiently and expectantly and trust in our Lord's goodness and mercy.
I reread my last post, and I was chagrined to discover a number of typo's.
Please excuse my carelessness. I will try to do better in the future.
With great appreciation to you all,
Jim and Diane Rapp
